Situated on a pretty back street, in the heart of the historic Royal Burgh of Dornoch, The Meadows House blends tradition, style and luxury to provide the perfect self-catering holiday accommodation for parties of up to 8 people, whether they be families, golfers or groups of friends wanting to share the best the Highlands can offer.
Recently renovated, The Meadows boasts 4 individually decorated double bedrooms, each with a modern en-suite bath or shower room. Two of the bedrooms have super-king beds which can be separated into single beds if required. The others have king-size double beds.
The Meadows was built from local sandstone in 1886, at what must have been a boom time for the town, as there are many other contemporaneous buildings around.
The house was called simply “The Meadows” because that’s where it was built – as the first house on a rough track which is still today called “The Meadows” – though today it is not so rough! In 1991 Ginny’s mum bought the house and the Council asked for it to be renamed “The Meadows House” – to try and avoid confusion, but it has never quite “stuck” with us! We hope you can forgive the idiosyncracy.

The North-East of Scotland is rightly a Mecca for golf lovers, with Royal Dornoch at its heart. Currently ranked #1 in Scotland and #3 in the world by Golf Digest, the clubhouse and 1st tee of the championship course are no more than a few hundred metres walk from the house.

The dry microclimate in this part of North-East Scotland, makes the Great Outdoors particularly enjoyable! Walking along golden, sandy beaches or through dramatic hills, cycling, fishing or bird-watching, all the best Highland activities are available in and around Dornoch

Directions: From Inverness take the A9 North. Cross the Dornoch Firth and take the next exit on the right signposted Dornoch (A949). As you come into the town, take the turning on your right, roughly opposite The Eagle Hotel (Eaglefield Road). Take the first left into The Meadows and The Meadows House is the second house on your left.
